What is Nature-Based Learning? About The Nest The Nest at Wheeler provides an early childhood education that meets the developmental needs of each child through joyful, hands-on, experiential learning in the natural world. Our nature-based curriculum integrates academics and social-emotional skills and inspires a love of learning and connection to the natural world. Guiding Principles Our Nature-Based Programs Set among 120 acres of fields, walking trails, woodlands, and a community garden, this property features beautiful, new, light-filled classrooms that create the feeling of home away from home. ages 2.9 - 4 Nursery Program In our Nursery program, we provide a language-rich, culturally responsive, anti-bias environment that instills a love of learning and stewardship of the Earth. ages 4 - 5 Pre-Kindergarten Program In our Pre-Kindergarten program, children will experience a more traditional classroom experience in a natural setting while building skills through play and teacher-directed experiences. The Nest at Wheeler program was designed to meet both these needs! Build a schedule that works for your family Full Day: 8am-3pm, with drop off as early as 7:30am and extended care until 5:30pm (one fee) Half-day (12:30pm) 34 day options available for Nursery families Family-friendly options When coupled with Wheeler Summer, Nest families have 12 months of care!
